Emily + Peter | ENGAGEMENT

Going through & updating my website, I have noticed just how many couples didnt get blogged....I knew I was busy in the fall, but time really does get away from me. So, as well as family pix, I'll be blogging some fall engagements too!

Emily & Peter are getting married in June...now that we've turned the corner into 2010, it seems their wedding is just around the corner! (ok, maybe I'm just hopeful for sun & warm!). Cute couple...so sweet together!

I had the most loveliest email from a recent bride today and I wanted to share with all of you.

"From the moment I saw your photos and met you at the wedding show I just knew the results would be nothing short of superb. What I didn't know is how helpful you would become and how you would put my mind at ease when things got hairy. Your guidance, professionalism, and laughter was greatly appreciated. We enjoyed you company from start to finish. We had such a total blast at the engagement shoot and for a couple of hours we felt like Kate Moss and Tyson Beckford! The funny part is, it was almost like you were invisible on our wedding day. Obviously I remembering seeing you after the ceremony when we went off and did all the photos, but during the ceremony and reception I did not see you at all. But you most definitely saw us because the pictures are incredible. We have seen so many photographer's that are more front and centre then the bride and groom! Anthony and I decided not to get a videographer and I was worried I might regret that. Your pictures laid that worry to rest. Your photos tell the story and capture every moment and emotion. To say that I am happy with them would be an understatement."

Photo of the Day

Photo of the Day returns after a very long absence. Had the afternoon off yesterday, so Hubby & I went for a drive. Most of the snow was gone along the lake, around Port Hope, so everything looked like early spring again. Sign of things to come. I just love these gnarly trees...couldnt decide which I liked better, colour or b&w. Even in the dreariest times of the year, there is still surprisingly beautiful colour to be found - its just more subtle.

Wedding Bells 2010

Join me and many other wedding vendors at the annual WEDDING BELLS BRIDAL SHOW, Sunday, January 24th @ the Peterborough Memorial Centre. Doors open at 11am. This show is not to be missed if you are planning your 2010 or 2011 wedding.

As for me, 2010 has a small number of available dates & 2011 bookings are rolling in... so dont be disappointed. It is never too early to book your wedding. I look forward to hearing from you!

The Magee's | 2010

Most every year we do a family picture....set up the tripod and get a shot of the three of us...but for the past few years we've just had a snap taken while on vacation. So, I figured this year, I would get another photographer friend to shoot our pictures. Well, things kept getting put off and my schedule is so crazy and that didn't happen either. So, today I had the afternoon off and said we're going out!!! It was cold, but sunny. My husband grumbled the whole time...thin blood...whatever...suck it up!!! Jacob grumbled...I started getting b#@$%#y....just please smile. It's the same every time we do this....but the crabbier we get with each other...the better the pictures. Go figure! It's so much easier to shoot people other than my family!

Now, I do want to brag a little....Jacob took the shots of Andrew & me. I'm so thrilled with his talent...heck, I'm thrilled he can hang on to the camera & big lens properly and get a sharp picture...its 8lbs & 12" long.....its alot of camera!
Probably the best shots of Andrew & me ever...and I never like a picture of myself. I think it helped I was having a good hair day too. BTW...I often am asked who does my hair...my friend Becky @ Hair Trends!

Stacy & Phil | ENGAGEMENT

Now this one is going back all the way to September! Stacy & Phil are getting married soon, down south....all sand & sunny skies for their wedding!!! We had a fun shoot around Oshawa & Whitby for their engagement and even managed to pull in a little sand & sun there too! Congratulations & all the best to you!

HAPPY NEW YEAR!!!

Well, it's a brand new year on the blog and full of good things to come! I was so busy last fall trying to keep up with all my shooting & editing, that I didn't get to blog hardly anything but weddings. And I know lots of followers who have been anxious to see all the 'hidden' stuff on my website, so its time for a sneak peek! I met lots of great new families and couples and I just had to give them all their turn in the spotlight. Without further adieu...

Meet Dan & Kerrie!

Dan is such a cowboy...Kerrie just the sweetest, cutest gal you ever met. Had a great time at their farm shooting them with their animals and on the wood pile. Check out that picture of Dan with the chainsaw...smokin'. Just before Christmas, a couple of months AFTER these pictures were taken, Dan popped the question. Kerrie called just today to book their 2011 wedding. I figured that was a good reason for them to be #1 on my blog in 2010. Congratulations!!
